December 2008: Paris (& Gais, Switzerland photos)

For the Christmas and New Year holidays this year we headed to France and Switzerland. This was the boys' third overnight train between Florence and Paris, and they have become quite the experts on the ways of the train. We shared the compartment with 2 others, one Costa Rican doctor who is doing a residency in Bologna and was headed to Paris to see his girlfriend. The other guy was also non-Italian, though we didn't get to know him.

In Paris we stayed in the 7th arrondissement, close to the Eiffel Tower. Our hotel room was a "family" room complete with bunkbeads. We visited the Louvre for the first time with the boys, as well as the sewers of Paris. We made a return trip to the Catacombes of Paris, and the boys visitede the Science and Industry museum for the 3rd time with Molli.

For Griffin, Paris will now forever recall the place where he lost his first tooth. It was on the Pont Loius Philippe, the bridge that connects the Hotel de Ville and the Ile St. Louis.
I managed to insert soem photos from "part 3" of our holidays into the Picasa site, so you will also find in the album below, photos from our stay in Gais, Swizerland, with Aimee's cousin Torsten and his family.
