We made it back to Madison, flying from Florence to Milan to Chicago then to Madison via bus. Along the way we met a family in Milan who was also on their way to Madison. We promised to get them on the Van Galder Bus, and only half-way to Rockford did we discover that they were teachers in the International Schools in Budapest, one had a sister who not only worked in the same middle school as Eric's sister but until a few months ago, lived across the street from the house where we are house-sitting in Madison. It also turns out they know the folks whose house we are staying in, having stayed (on a previous trip) in a house our friends had some connection with. We weren't even in Madison yet and we were already experiencing how small the world is!

Our first weekend here we hosted a party at a county park just outside of Madison, in honor of our homecoming and our 20 years together. A great time was had by all!
