Mid-August brings about a forced holiday, as Aimee's university shuts down for 2 weeks around ferragosto, a major holiday on August 15th. We traveled to Wales for a week of stays in several youth hostels. Our flight into Bristol, England was planned long before we had a firm itinerary, due to the prevalence of great summer airfares last January. From Bristol we had a 3-hour drive ahead of us to our first night in the Snowdonia national park in northern Wales, however we didn't count on the extra hour it took simply finding our way across the city of Bristol to our road north.
We then worked our way south, with a stop for tea and homemade Welsh biscuits to Aberaeron - yum! Our next stop was Newport (Cardiganshire) and then St. Davids.
