Progress in the Garden

Saturday, March 16th was another typical Saturday in Florence! This morning we headed back to our local garden center to get a few more plants and to see if they had any straw. No straw they said we needed to find someone with horses, that they could not have straw at a garden center, because it would be bad news for the other plants. Today we got a lupin, a pasque flower, a poppy, echinacea, snap dragon, a variety of geraniums and a some plant with bright orange flowers. The bulbs I planted are all up and some are flowering - a mini daffodil, crocuses, and some others. We planted the grass seed anyway. Eric had found that bags of soil was on sale at LIDL, a german-owned store similar to ALDI (probably the same company) - so we covered the gravely yard with 20 bags, which both Cyrus and Griffin helped to spread out. They they scattered the seeds.
